Social network and questions website terms and conditions
These template T&Cs combine the provisions of our social network T&Cs, and our Q&A website T&Cs.
The T&Cs include extensive provisions dealing with user content, which is often a major issue with social media websites. First, there is a dedicated licensing provision which sets out the basis upon which the content may be used by the website operator. Second, there is a set of warranties given by the user to the website operator. Third, there is an optional indemnity which may be used to back-up those warranties. (Of course, getting warranties and indemnities from a user is one thing, enforcing them is another.)
The T&Cs do not include anything relating to payments, and if your website features paid services, or indeed any other payment-related features, you will need to supplement these T&Cs appropriately or use a different template.
This document would usually be used in conjunction with a privacy and cookies policy document. The purpose of such policies is to help compliance with data protection disclosure laws.
